TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS PREVAIL OVER THE CARDINALS AT CONNORVALE PARK TO EARN THEIR SECOND EBA BANTAM SELECT LOOP VICTORY OF THE SEASON

Beneath a pristine ceiling of warm and succulent skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Bantam Selects defeated the Royal York Boys 14-6 in four innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Bantam Select Loop action this evening at Connorvale Park.
Here is a brief recap of the proceeding:
- TP collected only two hits against Royal York, both from Evan (17), who continues his hot streak going 2 for 3 at the plate.
- Evan delivered a spectacular triple in the top of the fourth inning that brought Jamie (52) and Gianlucca (23) home.
- The TP pitching was great, with starter James (6) tossing two strong innings with just two earned runs.
- TP reliever Luca (14) faced the top of the Cardinals batting order in the bottom of the third and held them to three runs while striking out two.
- In the bottom portion of the fourth, TP closer Jashan (13) blanked the Red Birds with three strikeouts to end it.
- UPDATE: In an exhibition game contested on Sunday (May 26) evening, the TP Bantam Selects defeated the North Toronto Minors 20-6 in five innings of play at Eglinton Park.
The TP Bantam (2-0-1) Selects return to the friendly confines of Dominico Field at Christie Pits next Thursday (May 30) night to host the Royal York Girls at 8:00 p.m.
